Miura

Miura are the foragers and farmers of the sea. They come in 3 scale colors : "Redscale" "Bluefin" and "Yellowtail" with their upper skin color varying from dark to pale. They can carry many patterns of cyan, teal, and gold, Miura also have distinctive glittering 'masks' of pearlescent scales around their eyes that can range in color. Miura are quite small, ranging from 2 to 3 feet. As children they are referred to as "Merpups" similar to Seeka and Atla. They have a sudden growth spurt into adults.

Miura expand their reaches from the Grand Reef capital using "Seekers" who find fertile grounds to grow their Meerkafruit and Serefruit. The founder becomes the village elder and has authority over their pod, determining the next generation of seekers, farmers, envoys, and scouts. The Elders send their envoys to the capital regularly to give reports and trade.

Miura are wise, clever, and cautious, but lack strength and speed. They often have to hide from predators and aggressive creatures, but in a pinch can use their wits to outsmart their pursuers.

Seeka

Seeka are the hunters and explorers of the sea. Seeka are intensely blue in color often with some striping and a white belly. Seeka are quite large, roughly 5 to 6 feet and are extremely muscular. With features resembling a Blue Marlin, the Seeka are incredibly fast swimmers and tough fighters.

Seeka live in the massive and growing Shell City run by a council of elders that determine how the city should run during emergencies or disasters, but otherwise the Seeka are largely independent with individuals having many stages of their life phase between exploration, community service, and parenting.

Seeka are steadfast, courageous, and tough. They can stalk their prey with their deep blue color and incredible swimming skills, and in a flash attack and be out of range in a hit and run.

Atla

Atla are the warriors and record keepers of the sea. Atla are grey and blue often with a white belly. They tower over most merfolk at 7 to 8 feet and are muscular, thick, and powerful. Resembling a Orcas, the Atla are powerful fighters, with little to no predators capable of matching their toughness and strength.

The Atla operate in a kingdom known as Atlantis, deep in the ocean. From there they run a civilized society where schooling, training, and teaching are key. They are the only merfolk to keep long held records of the past, and value intelligence and decorum in a way the other merfolk do not. They are majestic and graceful and their movements are mesmerizing, often considered beautiful beyond measure. Thier society is rigid, and lacks sympathy for those who do not fit in, with their history rife with civil wars and conflict with eachother and others.

Atla are enigmatic, intelligent, and powerful. They make their presence known and rise to any challenge with honor and courage.
